FAQ
Welcome to the frequently asked questions. Below you'll find detailed answers about how we build calculators, how to interpret results, and how to contact the team. Use the accordion to expand individual items — links inside answers point to related tools and policy pages around the site.
Simple Calculator is an online collection of lightweight, focused tools that help you perform common calculations quickly. We provide a range of calculators for finance (EMI, loans, simple & compound interest), everyday utilities (unit conversion, length, weight, temperature), health calculators (BMI, BMR), and math helpers. The site is designed for speed and clarity — each tool concentrates on the calculation and explains inputs and results in plain language so you can trust the output and move on with your task.
If you'd like an overview of available calculators, see the Math Calculator, the Unit Converter hub, or the interest calculators under Interest Calculators.
Our calculators implement standard mathematical and financial formulas. For example, EMI calculators use the standard annuity payment formula, interest tools use the accepted compound or simple interest formulas, and unit converters rely on exact conversion factors. Each tool lists its assumed formula and input units on the page so you can validate how the output was produced.
While results are computed deterministically, they are based on the inputs you provide. Rounding behaviour, local tax considerations, or regulatory variations (for financial instruments) are outside the scope of the calculators. Where important, we recommend double-checking results with official sources or financial advisors. For detailed finance-related explanations, visit our About page.
By default we do not persist personal calculation data. Sessions are ephemeral and calculation values you enter remain in your browser unless you explicitly submit them to us. We use minimal analytics to improve the product and may employ cookies to manage preferences.
For specific details, please review our Privacy Policy. If you have questions about data handling or want to request data removal, contact us via the Contact page.
Absolutely. We welcome suggestions for new calculators and reports of incorrect behaviour. The most helpful suggestions include an example input, expected output, and steps to reproduce the issue. That makes it faster for us to validate and implement fixes.
Use the Contact page to send your request. For community-driven or collaborative feature requests, mention how you would like the UI to behave and which existing calculators you expect it to work alongside. We prioritize tools that help the most users in common workflows.
Currently, our calculators are delivered as a web application and require an internet connection to load. Some parts of the site may cache static assets in the browser, which can improve load times on repeat visits, but this is not a guaranteed offline mode.
If you want to embed a calculation into your site or app, reach out through the Contact page and provide context — for many calculators we can provide lightweight snippets or an API approach depending on your use case and licensing preferences.
Use the calculators as tools for exploration and quick estimation. They are helpful for comparing scenarios (for example, different loan tenures, interest rates, or contribution schedules). For formal planning—especially financial planning, medical dosing, or legal decisions—consult a qualified professional who can consider the full context beyond numeric outputs.
For practical tips, many of our finance calculators include an explanatory note and a short list of factors to consider. If you need deeper background on an algorithm or formula used by a specific tool, check the calculator page itself or the About section for methodology.
We include short explainers on many calculator pages and link to relevant internal resources. For example, math-related helpers link to the Math Calculator hub, while unit conversion tools are grouped under Unit Converter. These internal links make it easy to explore related tools and learn how small changes affect results.
Outside links are carefully chosen and labelled. If you'd like a guide or walkthrough for a particular use case, contact us and we can prioritize a short tutorial or article based on user demand.
